Cuc Phuong - Vietnam's first national park was established on July 7^th 1962. It is located 120 km South - West of Hanoi on the land area of 22.200 ha, among three provinces: Ninh Binh, Hoa binh and Thanh hoa.

Cuc Phuong is a primary - tropical rain forest. Three - forth of land area is limestone mountains so flora and fauna in Cuc Phuong is very rich, diverse and unique (1983 species of vascular plants, 97 species of aminal, more than 300 species of birds, 36 species reptiles, 17 species of amphibians, 11 species of fishes and thousands of species of insects), many of them are listed in the Vietnam Red Book.

In Cucphuong there are many huge and beautiful caves, there contain vestiges of prehistoric man, which are between 7000 - 12000 years old. Recently, a fossil of a sea animal was discovered, it lived about 200-250 million years ago. Cucphuong is home to Muong ethnic minority with their own culture so it is also cultural heritage of Vietnam. Every year there are more than 40 thousand Vietnamese and foreign visitors come to Cucphuong, especially, the leaders Vietnam Government and Communist Party come to Cucphuong too such as Pham Van Dong - Prime Minister, Le Kha Phieu - General Secretary, Nong Duc Manh - President of National Assembly and Tran Duc Luong - President of Vietnam etc ... We are very proud of Cucphuong nature.
